Despite a weather forecast calling for a 100 percent chance of showers, 19 volunteers showed up for the Chapter's Adopt A Stream Cleanup of Bull Run. This event was part of Stewardship Virginia , a semiannual initiative of the Commonwealth of Virginia to encourage State Residents to participate in events and projects which preserve and protect the natural and cultural resources of Virginia.
Working on both sides of the stream, constant rain and muddy conditions made it slow going for the volunteers who removed over 500 pounds of trash from a 0.5 mile length of Bull Run's flood plain.
