On Saturday November 6th we had a great turnout at our last scheduled Adopt A Stream Cleanup of the year. 24 volunteers filled thirty bags with trash and carried out a number of other large items including 2 tires, the base of a shower enclosure, the stern of a fiberglass boat and a stainless steel double basin kitchen sink. Total weight collected 697 pounds.

While most of the trash we collected was floodborne debris flushed from the roadways by recent rains, Chapter Members Ned Foster and Vinnie Caporale collected hundreds of beer bottles and other trash from a "party spot" in the vicinity of the Ordway Road Bridge.
If only there were a container deposit in Virginia.

The Membership of the Arlington Fairfax Chapter of the IWLA would like to thank Karen Ritchie and her students from Rocky Run Middle School for their participation as well as the numerous employees of Datran Media who have helped us so much this Fall.
