On August 2nd, three volunteers collected 12 bags of trash, two car tires and 2.5 pounds of broken glass from Bull Run downstream of the Route 28 Access Point. A NOAA weather prediction of 100 percent chance of rain in the morning as well as scattered thunderstorms likely depressed the turnout. Fortunately the rain held off until the evening and it was an otherwise fine day.
On August 17th we went out again and pulled out a dozen tires from the stream. Unfortunately we were only able to carry out two of them as well as 5 bags of trash and 1.75 pounds of broken glass in the time allotted.
Ned Foster on his own initiative carried out the stack of tires from August 17th clean up, some construction material, a residential door as well as another 4 tires between August 23rd and August 30th.
